Big Time Butterfly

Butterfly farming in Thailand, Englishman Geoff Clegg, with his one-time African elephant hunting friend, Bill Crandon, are contracted to fetch from Malaysia a million-dollar butterfly for a Californian 'Croesus' in Phuket. Armed Hong Kong thugs attempt to steal the specimen from the pair, who make a run for it to the Borneo rainforests where, among other things, they engage in a shoot-out with the thugs, using blowpipe darts and ancient shotguns against modern pistols, and Clegg becomes amorously involved with a longhouse girl. In the lead-up to the adventure Clegg helps Crandon despatch a rogue temple elephant in the rice fields of north-eastern Thailand - making Big Time Butterfly two novels in one.
